Another situation involved a camping / hiking trip my partner and I took several years ago in the Columbia River gorge near The Dalles, Oregon.
This was the year the Sesquicentennial of the Oregon Trail was being reenacted.
A replica of the 1843 wagon trains was in progress coming all the way from the mid - west to Portland, Oregon.
